Hormuz Traffic (Kpler / PortWatch)

  • Only 6 vessels crossed the strait Sunday (fewest in 5 weeks).
  • VLCC Humanity exited with 2m bbl Iranian oil; Capetan Andreas with 500k bbl Kuwaiti products.
  • Most tankers switching off transponders when crossing.

  • "Recent attacks highlight how uncertain Gulf exports remain and that a serious re-escalation could re-intensify the short-run upside risk to oil prices."

Significance

This is the day the MOU formally died. The 20% toll was the provocation Iran could not accept; Iran's tanker attacks and FM counter-offer ("we will be fair") turned it into a public framing war. The Rubio contradiction and IMO objection provide legal cover for any nation refusing to pay. Korean memory complex (SK Hynix, Samsung) getting hit is the global semiconductor transmission channel — the war is now a chip supply event, not just an oil event.
