Iran Shipping Update – July 7, 2026¶
United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) | July 7, 2026
Summary¶
UANI's July 7, 2026 shipping update documents Iranian oil export activity through the Strait of Hormuz. Approximately 58 million barrels of Iranian oil and petrochemicals were departing the Gulf of Oman laden on vessels conducting dark-transit operations — generating an estimated $4.5 billion in revenue for the IRGC.
Key Data Points¶
Iranian Oil Export Activity (as of July 7)¶
- ~58 million barrels of Iranian oil and petrochemicals departing Gulf of Oman
- Revenue estimate: $4.5 billion for the IRGC
- Vessels operating in dark-transit mode (AIS transponders off)
- This represents continued commercial-scale Iranian exports despite the ceasefire
Context¶
These exports represent the cargoes currently at sea. Combined with the ~40M barrels already exported in the first two weeks post-MOU, Iran has moved or is moving ~100M barrels — with most revenue accruing to the IRGC rather than the civilian government.
Note¶
UANI is a hardliner organization opposed to any Iran deal. Their figures should be read as indicative of significant Iranian export activity rather than precise volumes, which are inherently hard to verify given dark-transit operations.
