What This KB Covers¶

The conflict began February 28, 2026 with U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iranian infrastructure. The Strait of Hormuz — carrying ~20 mbd oil (22% of global maritime trade) and 22% of global LNG — effectively shut down. Transit collapsed from ~130 ships/day to ~6 ships/day. Collective production shut-ins reached 9.1 mbd in April 2026 (EIA).
